At Dragonfly Dance, we believe that everyone should be treated equally and with respect. We have outlined our expectations in the policies below. 

Please read through the policies at your leisure and let us know if you have any queries. Our aim is to have a united studio with all members on the same page.

Teacher/client relationship policy

The purpose of this document is to provide clear expectations to teachers, other contractors and clients regarding the Studio’s expectations when it comes to professional relationships and appropriate boundaries.

Policy: Injury and Incidents

The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and staff at Dragonfly Dance Studio by providing a clear framework for managing injuries and incidents.

Procedure: Leave

The purpose of this policy is to outline the leave entitlements and flexible work options available to employees of Dragonfly Dance. It ensures our compliance with the Fair Work Act 2009, the National Employment Standards (NES) and the relevant Modern Awards that apply to each role. It aims to supports staff wellbeing, fairness, and operational sustainability.

Hot Weather Policy

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to teachers, other contractors and clients during periods of extreme heat to minimise the risk of heat stress, heat stroke or other heat-related health problems that may arise in association with dance activities.

Purchase Policy

To provide clear guidelines for team purchases at Dragonfly Dance, whether made using company funds, through reimbursement, or via the petty cash tin. This policy ensures responsible financial management, accountability, and efficient record-keeping.

Cancellation Policy

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to teachers, other contractors and clients in the event that a scheduled dance activity is cancelled, by either the client or Dragonfly Dance.

Class Video Filming Policy

An outline of how Dragonfly Dance manages video recording in classes, covering purposes, limitations, consent, intellectual property, and sharing. It sets responsibilities for directors, teachers, clients, and marketing personnel, and provides guidance on when and how videos may be captured, used, and shared.

Pre-pointe and Pointe Policy

Policy to guide teachers and dancers in progression into pre-pointe and pointe.

Policy: Team studio usage

This policy establishes guidelines for studio usage by teachers and team members and project development at Dragonfly Dance. It offers fair access, maintains professional standards, and supports both individual creative endeavours and studio sustainability.

Policy: Emergency evacuation

This policy outlines Dragonfly Dance’s commitment to the safety of all staff, students, contractors, and visitors by ensuring that a clear, effective, and practiced evacuation procedure is in place for emergencies such as fire, gas leaks, threats, or natural disasters.

Privacy Policy

The purpose of this document is to provide a framework for Dragonfly Dance in dealing with privacy considerations.

Refund and Returns Policy

To provide clear guidelines for handling refund and return requests at Dragonfly Dance. This policy ensures fair, consistent, and transparent treatment of all refund requests while balancing our need to plan effectively based on confirmed enrolments and product purchases.

Payment Difficulties and Financial Hardship Policy

The purpose of this document is to provide outline the circumstances and process to follow if a client is experiencing payment difficulties and/or financial hardship.

Private Lesson Policy

This policy outlines the framework for offering private lessons at Dragonfly Dance. It ensures private lessons are conducted in a way that supports dancer development, enables teacher autonomy, protects studio operations, and ensures payments and bookings are managed professionally and consistently.

Safe Dance Policy

An outline of Dragonfly Dance’s approach to safe dance, covering environmental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. It includes responsibilities for owners, teachers, clients, and contractors; guidelines for safe practice; links to related policies; and details on review and updates.

Costume Policy

Outline of Dragonfly Dance approach to costuming, aiming to be inclusive, affordable, and empowering, while ensuring high-quality stage presentation and a smooth rehearsal process.
