About Silver Dragonflies

Real dance for real adults

Silver Dragonflies offers real dance classes designed especially for adults aged 60 and over—though we warmly welcome anyone who feels this is the right fit for them.

A range of styles and levels

We offer:

  • Ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary

  • Multiple levels for both beginners and experienced dancers

You’ll find Silver Dragonflies classes listed on our full timetable, so you can choose the style and time that suits you best.

Designed for your stage of life

What makes these classes different is our deep understanding of the physical, cognitive, and social needs of dancers in their third act.

We design classes that:

Build strength, flexibility, and balance

Keep minds sharp and spirits high

Challenge you in thoughtful, supportive ways

Not fitness. Not “gentle.” Just dance.

These are not follow-along fitness classes. You’ll learn:

  • Real dance technique

  • Musicality, artistry, and choreography

  • Optional performance opportunities (only if you’re keen!)

Tailored movement, without pressure

You’ll find fewer turns, jumps, and floorwork than in our mixed-age classes—but we offer options for those who enjoy them.

You’re never expected to do anything that doesn’t feel right for your body. We offer choices so you can grow in ways that are safe, satisfying, and truly your own.

Strength. Confidence. Joy.

This isn’t a “gentle” class that assumes you’re past it.

It’s a space that meets you where you are—and helps you grow in strength, confidence, connection, and skill.

We don’t see you as old or frail. We see you as someone who’s simply been on the planet longer—with stories, spirit, and so much still to explore through dance.
