Dance journey
My dance journey began at age six with classical ballet, followed by a year of jazz ballet. Throughout school, I explored my creativity through theatre productions and art classes - always drawn to artistic self-expression.
During my university years, I decided to revisit my love of dance by joining a jazz class at X-cel Dance. For three years, I immersed myself in classes and performances - even taking the stage as a Spice Girl! I experimented with a few hip hop classes but found my rhythm at my local gym, where I regularly took part in Body Jam classes. These experiences reignited my passion for dance, music, and community.
Career / Approach
My creative career began when my Year 12 Design piece was purchased by my school to display in the front office - a moment that inspired me to pursue design professionally. I completed a Bachelor of Visual Communication (Graphic Design) at UniSA, taking electives in photography, multimedia, and stage production.
Wanting to expand my skills, I studied Screen Production (Video) at TAFE SA, which opened doors to work on film and tv productions. A few years later, I decided to return to my graphic design roots and move interstate to study at Shillington College, an experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and led to a full-time Graphic Design role in Adelaide.
Twelve incredible years later, I branched out into freelancing, taking on projects that blended design and marketing. In 2023, I began studying Kinesiology and joined a community focused business as an Administrator and Marketing Coordinator - a role that combined my creative and organisational strengths.
After that chapter closed, I was excited to begin a new one at Dragonfly Dance - a place that beautifully combines my passion for creativity and movement. In my spare time, you’ll find me practicing Kinesiology and Reiki @EnergyCareCo.
