Dance styles taught during summer term

Tap

Krystal Venables

I grew up in rural central Qld and started dance at the age of 4. I competed in Eisteddfods throughout my childhood in ballet, tap and jazz as well as song and dance. I was lucky my parents took me around Australia to different school holiday workshops including Brent Street in Sydney and Ministry of Dance in Melbourne to experience class with many different artists and styles. I also choreographed for Mackay's Festival of Fashion while in high school.

Tap is a personal favorite for me. I studied CSTD Tap and Jazz and earned my Student Teacher's Certificate in Tapping at 16. I also studied RAD Ballet up to Advanced 1.

At 18 I completed a 12 month full time course in Melbourne at Spectrum Dance and gained my Cert IV in Dance.

My favorite part about dance is choreography. The process of learning and creating movement within the music is cathartic and a great way to express any emotion! At Dragonfly Dance I love the community atmosphere and look forward to sharing in the love of dance over summer.
