Belinda Cooper

Graduating from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) in 1992, Belinda moved to Western Australia to dance professionally with 2 Dance Plus.

For 5 years she performed, choreographed, taught dance locally, as well as in regional schools in Western Australia and became Assistant Artistic Director in 1997.

In 1998 Belinda moved to Melbourne to work with Sandra Parker (Artistic Director - Danceworks).

In 1999 she joined Meryl Tankard’s Australian Dance Theatre (American and European tour) and fulfilled a lifelong dream of performing at Sadlers Wells.

She returned to Melbourne and continued working with Danceworks until one day (aged 28) she decided to stop.

20 years later, on a whim, Belinda took a contemporary class with Jo at Move Through Life and fell in love with dancing all over again. She went on to join the Performing Company and perform in 2021 Adelaide Fringe - ‘Windswept’ and in 2022 choreographed ‘Coming Up’ and ‘Coming Down’ for Showcase. In 2023, Belinda joined the Dragonfly Dance teaching team.

Belinda loves the feeling of moving through space and is loves sharing her passion and knowledge of contemporary dance.
