Are Dropin-In passes still the best option for you?
What is enrolment?
As we near the end of September, we are gearing up for our final quarter of the year, which starts on Monday 28 September.
This news items gives dancers who attend using drop in passes information about what they need to do to keep dancing with us and ensure they keep their place in their regular classes (or what to do if you need to change your enrolment).
Our final quarter of the year begins on Monday 28 September, so if you've been attending classes with us using Drop-In Passes, now is a good time to think about how you'd like to dance with us next quarter.
Quarter dates
First, a quick reminder of the dates for this and the next quarter:
The last day of our current quarter is Saturday 26 September.
Quarter 4 will start on Monday 28 September and runs until Saturday 19 December.
Timetable
Most of our timetable will remain the same, with a few minor changes:
Intro courses transitioning to regular classes
the three courses we offered in Quarter 3 (Intro to Contemporary, Intro to Jazz, Ballet for Silver Dragonflies) will continue as regular classes on our timetable, as long as we have sufficient people enrolled. As you attend via Drop-In, it means your attendance is not counted as a regular attendee in the class, so it won't help build the numbers for sustainability.
Friday morning classes
Previously we had Level 2 and Level 3 Ballet Barre at 10am and Jazz Mature at 11am. In quarter 4, the levels will be combined. The reason for this is because of frequent changes back and forth from level 2 and 3, dancers choosing the class based on who else is in the class rather than whether the level suits.
Return of founder, Jo McDonald
Dragonfly founder and owner, Jo McDonald, is returning to teaching some classes (following a break so she could provide carer support for her mother who had a stroke in early July). Jo will be returning to Monday nights, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and Saturdays.
Are Drop-In passes still the best option for you?
You absolutely can.
Drop-In Passes give you the greatest flexibility because you can choose and pay for individual classes as you go, without an ongoing commitment.
They are, however, our full-price option, and because you're not enrolled in a regular class, your place isn't reserved from week to week.
If you're finding yourself coming to the same class regularly, you might want to consider enrolling instead.
What is enrolment?
Enrolment means you are booked into a regular classes, or classes, each week, rather than needing to worry about booking and paying each time you visit.
There are a couple of particularly good reasons to enrol.
If your class is busy: enrolling reserves your regular place in the class. If you continue to use Drop-In Passes, there may be weeks when the class is full and you can't book.
If your class is smaller: enrolling helps us know that there is an ongoing group committed to the class. That makes it easier for us to plan our timetable and keep classes viable.
And in either case, regular enrolment gives your teacher a more consistent group to work with as the class learns and progresses through the quarter.
To enrol in a class, you need to be paying via Quarterly Pass or Membership. You can complete our Enrolment and Membership Amendment form to organise it. The form uses conditional logic, which will guide you through the form based on your answers.

A Quarterly Pass might suit you
Our Quarterly Pass gives you 13 classes to use across the 13-week quarter and costs less per class than paying the Drop-In rate.
You'll have a regular enrolled class, but if you need to miss it occasionally, you can cancel your booking and use that class credit in another suitable class during the quarter.
So you still have flexibility, while also having a regular place in your class.
Or consider membership
If dance has become a regular part of your week, membership offers our best value and means your enrolment continues automatically from quarter to quarter.
We have two options:
Standard Membership is paid every 4 weeks and offers the greater discount. It's best suited to dancers who attend consistently, as unused class allocations expire at the end of each 4-week period.
Flex Membership is paid every 13 weeks and gives you the full 13 weeks to use your class allocation, making it better suited to dancers who occasionally miss a week or two and want more time to make up their classes.
Both memberships are a 12-month commitment, with the option to place your membership on hold when needed.
Of course, if Drop-In Passes genuinely suit the way you dance, you're welcome to continue using them.
But if you're already coming regularly, the beginning of a new quarter is a good opportunity to consider whether enrolling in your class might suit you better.
We'd love to have you dancing with us in our final quarter of 2026.
