How to enrol
As of March 2026, all members need to choose a 'home base' class, and to enrol in that class. In this post, find out why you need to enrol, and how to enrol.
We still have a number of outstanding enrolment forms and need all members to complete them as soon as possible.
Even if you completed a form in January, you still need to complete the updated enrolment form.
Why enrolment?
At the start of 2026, we introduced enrolment across all memberships at Dragonfly Dance.
For many years, we tried to offer as much flexibility as possible. The intention was to make dance work around adult lives and schedules. But over time, we realised that the level of flexibility we had in place was starting to undermine the very things we were trying to build.
Because dancers moved so freely between classes, we often didn’t actually know:
who was regularly attending a class
which classes were genuinely sustainable
whether a class was too full or too small
what level a class was actually operating at week to week
Teachers also often didn’t know who their regular dancers were and who was simply attending as a makeup class. This made it more difficult to build continuity, teach progressively, and maintain clear learning pathways.
It also affected our level system and curriculum. Classes could shift in standard depending on who attended that week, which meant we couldn’t confidently advertise or structure classes as the level they were intended to be.
It was impossible to establish new classes. Dancers would often try a new class using makeup credits, but without ongoing commitment, the new class couldn’t build stable attendance. At the same time, numbers in existing classes would suddenly fluctuate as people moved around.
In essence, the flexibility we had offered for many years was creating instability across the timetable, class structure, and learning experience.
The enrolment form also allows us to collect and maintain important information such as emergency contact details, relevant medical information, postcode, and date of birth, which had been lost when we moved from our previous booking system to MindBody.
How enrolment works
All members must enrol in at least one HOME BASE class. The number of classes you enrol in depends on your membership and how many classes you attend each week.
Silver - 1 class
Gold - 2 classes
Platinum - 3 classes
Diamond - 4 classes
Ultimate - 5 classes (you can still attend more, but can only enrol in 5)
This is now compulsory and forms part of our membership system. If you choose not to enrol, you may find yourself unable to secure a place in your preferred class.
Once you are enrolled in a class, you do not need to fill out an enrolment form each quarter. The only times you'll need to fill one out is if you want to change the class you are attending).
Importantly, enrolment does not mean you are locked into attending the same class every week. Flexibility is still a vital benefit of the membership. You can still:
cancel and rebook classes
attend other classes
use the flexibility within your membership
And with our new membership options, you'll be able to reschedule bookings easily.
Your HOME BASE class simply reserves your place in that class and helps us understand consistent attendance patterns across the studio.
Unable to attend the same classes each week?
If your work or life schedule means you genuinely cannot attend the same class each week, please contact us to discuss suitable options (phone 08 8073 2069, text 0489 261 106, email info@dragonflydance.com.au
