Designed specifically for mature adults, this 6-week course celebrates graceful movement, beautiful music and the joy of learning, with an approach that works with your body as it is today.Whether you're taking your very first ballet class or returning after many years away, you'll develop confidence, balance and artistry in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
About the course
This 6-week course is designed for mature adults who would like to experience the beauty of ballet in a supportive and welcoming environment. Whether you're completely new to ballet or returning after many years away, the course will help you develop confidence, grace and sound technique while working with the body you have today.
You'll improve posture, balance, coordination and body awareness as you (re)discover the foundations of classical ballet. Classes include barre exercises, centre practice and expressive port de bras, with an emphasis on alignment, poise, musicality and artistry rather than athletic tricks or extreme flexibility.
Our approach recognises that every body is different. Rather than forcing turnout, extensions or positions beyond your natural range, you'll learn how to work safely and effectively with your own body, developing strength, stability and correct muscle engagement to create beautiful, efficient movement.
This course provides an enjoyable introduction to ballet while building the confidence and technical foundation to continue dancing beyond the course.

This course has been designed primarily for mature adults, particularly those aged 60 years and over, although younger adults who are looking for this style of ballet class are also very welcome.
Whether you're taking your very first ballet class or returning after many years away, the emphasis is on dancing with the body you have today. Rather than focusing on athletic tricks or extreme flexibility, you'll develop posture, balance, musicality, grace and artistry while learning sound ballet technique in a supportive environment.
Classes include barre and centre work, with limited turns, jumps and demi-pointe work. Exercises are adapted to suit individual bodies and abilities, allowing everyone to develop safely and confidently.
